Everyone was very anxious to go raid the Highest Tower. “We need to get these Orks,” Wesley said in anger at the final meeting before the attack.
“Ok, let’s go over the plan one more time,” James emphasized. He had been focused on the attack plan more than everyone else since he saw the love of his life having her life chocked out of her. “We will split up into four groups. Me, Spencer, Victor and Vaughn,” he said. Wesley jumped out of his chair.
“What?!?! I don’t get to be in the war?!” Wesley exclaimed.
“It is too dangerous, and we don’t want to lose any more men,” James explained.
“My men were capured or killed by these stupid Orks, and you don’t think that I want to get some revenge?? Wesley roared. All of the men looked at each other hesitantly. Should they let the Prince of Nazarath risk his life to get some revenge? James was very worried.
“Look, I know that you wouldn’t stay out of this war, and I thank you for defending Jessica. Now that is all I want to do,” Wesley pleaded to James. Everyone was silent. They all looked over at James and decided to let him make the decision.
“Ok, you can join my group,” James decided.
“Thank you James,” thanked Wesley.
“Okay. Now I will lead my group to the north side with Wesley. Spence you go south, Victor go west and Vaughn your east. We will each have ten men in our groups. We don’t have lots of men who are willing to go on this dangerous expedition. Over the next three days everyone very keen to train and get ready to raid the tower. No one wanted to lose more men. They all worked very hard to make sure that they could pull of this impossible mission. James went to visit Jessica every morning, and after training.
Finally the day came. Everyone was ready. James said goodbye to Jessica and headed off to find his men. To his surprise, he arrived to find all of his men in line as ready as the military. They all headed off to the big field where the tower was. And according to their plan, James and Wesley’s team went north. They stayed behind the trees until everyone was positioned at their stations. The tower was very tall and wide. There were about 10 to 15 orks standing around the round tall tower. According to a prisoner who barely escaped the tower with his life, the prisoners were held at the very top of the tower. Just as James was about to shout the order to attack, he heard a sound more orks coming down the path. He saw them guarding the Cyclops. The Cyclops walked up to the tower and headed inside with an evil grin on his face. James and Wesley looked at Vaughn and Victor through the bushes where they were hiding. They all had the same expression on their face and they all thought the same exact thing; defeating the Cyclops was not a part of their plan! But they all knew that this had to happen today. James motioned the others to move back to the hideout without being seen so that they could make another plan. James lead his team quietly back to the hideout. He found his men pacing around the cottage.
“What are we going to do?” asked Vaughn in a panicked voice.
“Yes what??” repeated his brother.
“Calm down,” James said. “I know that the Cyclops wasn’t a part of our plan, but now we can finish this war once and for all!”
“James is right,” Wesley piped in. “We should first get our men out then attack the rest of the orks,” The whole army looked at each other in doubt. Would they be able to do this? Can they do this without losing all of their men? They were all doubtful but… they all knew that this is the only way to end this evil war that had affected their land for years.
“Ok then, instead of all of us heading towards the prisoners, two groups will stay at the base and the middle of the tower to defend the others against any orks or the Cyclops,” Spencer planned.
“We should attack at noon today,” James suggested. Everyone agreed to this plan.
When noon arrived everyone headed back to the forest through the trees. The saw the orks that had been guarding the castle and the ones who escorted the Cyclops.
“Where is the Cyclops?” Wesley whispered.
“I don’t know,” James whispered back worriedly. “Ok, let’s do this,” he signaled Vaughn, Victor and Spencer. “One, two…” he said as he numbered in the air so that his men could see. “…three. ATTACK!!” James screamed in his loudest war voice. Screaming men suited for war came running from each side of the tower. After James’ cry, they all looked towards the north, but they did not expect an army coming from all different sides. The orks were confused at first but they realized that is was a raid. They tried to quickly act fast but with James’ men surrounding them it was almost impossible for them to react fast enough. As James was rushing to the door of the tower he saw about seven orks lying dead on the ground and about five other slashing their swords at his army. Just as James and Wesley were through the doors of the tower, He saw one of the wounded orks laying on the ground with his leg cut off reaching in pain for his horn! Wesley ran as fast as he could to stop him, but he was too late, the horn was blown alerting the others inside. The horn rang for several seconds till Spencer cam up and chopped the hand of the ork holding the horn, it dropped to the ground immediately. The ork died in anguish. The orks inside had been warned.
“Run inside quickly! Before they have the time to get prepared!” yelled Spencer to James “Go with Victor’s team inside! Vaughn and I will meet you guys inside!” James replied with a nod while he ran inside.
“Victor! Let’s go!” he said. As he ran into he tower followed by Wesley he saw that the tower had a long case of winding stairs, and beside the stairs there were a few rooms.
“We need to get to the prison room at the top,” Wesley whispered to the team as they were creping inside. They did not want to give themselves away more than they already had.
“You three go further ahead with me so we can see what’s going on upstairs, everyone else stay a little further behind and follow us carefully. If you guys hear me give the order to fall back, you all do it,” James whispered to everyone. He picked three of the bravest men and started up the stairs. The stairs were long and rusty. They squeaked as they were walking.
“Be gentle as you walk, we don’t want them to know we are coming up right now,” whispered James behind his shoulder. He saw lots of rooms as he was going upstairs. He had commanded his soldiers not to look into the rooms and get distracted, but now he was every curious. He heard voices coming from one of the rooms. The door was slightly cracked open. He quietly pulled open the door enough so that he could see. He saw a normal room with furniture and lamps and beds. It looked like a place for the guards to stay. There he saw three orks passed out on the couch and tow more that were taking.
“I heard that the warning whistle was blown and that we are being attacked,” grunted the big ork.
“Ha, the Yumazadra’s don’t have army. I bet all it is, is a few men trying to get revenge,” the other said. James was relieved to hear that their element of surprise had not been taken from them. They only expected a few men, maybe five or ten, but they had 40 men! James tried to open the door a little more so that he could see, but the door squeaked a bit too loudly. One of the guards looked to the door.
“Who is there??” he shouted. James gasped as he saw the giant ork look straight at him. He swiftly walked away from the door. As he ran up the stairs he heard the ork yell back
“They are in the tower!” James signaled his men to run for the prison. He ran as fast as he could behind them. He finally came to the top. There was a big wooden door. It was cracked open.
“I heard someone coming this way. They are in the castle, go warn the Cyclops king!” shouted an orks from behind a wall. James and his men hid. James knew what to do. He had to release the prisoners. He peaked inside again through the wooden gates, and later wishes that he hadn’t. There on the two sides of the wall were to long prison cells. They were from the door to the way back of the room. Inside was thousands of dying groaning men. They were in rags looking dreadful and in the greatest misery of their lives. It was the most horrible, dreadful, ghastly and horrific things he had ever seen in his life. It was immoral to do something like what James saw to do to his men. And there was the Cyclops in the middle of the room sitting in his throne with an evil smirk on his face. There were about ten or so orks surrounding him. They were teasing one of his men who looked as if they were starving him. They put food in front of him and they took it away laughing. The man looked in despair. James could not take any more. He barged into the room without thinking and said “ATTACK!” Everyone turned to look at James and his three men looking bravely at the Cyclops. Everyone looked around, and then the Cyclops started to laugh! His ork laughed clueless with him. They laughed and laughed and evil laugh.
“You challenge me with three wimpy men at your side?!” laughed the Cyclops. He had thought, just like the other orks that he only brought a few men.
“No, I challenge you with my army at my side!” James shouted “ATTACK!” the Cyclops looked at him with doubt, but within a few seconds an army of 40 men had coming running into the room attacking the orks. There were orks everywhere trying to defend themselves and the Cyclops. They were clearly out numbered. Five men, including Spencer were attacking one of the very viscous orks. He was the biggest one, and it looked as if he was the Cyclopes right hand man. The beast swung his huge arms around the air trying to defend himself.James was occupied trying to get the keys off of the orks and unlock the prisons. They came running out happy and hopeful. Some carried the weak.
“Run down to the bottom! Vaughn’s team will lead you to Nazarath! GO Quickly!” James commanded the prisoners. They all thanked him as they ran down. Out of nowhere the Cyclops came running towards James.
“I have you now!” he screamed. James tried to doge out of the way but he was too late, the Cyclops hit James with his sword right in the arm. When the Cyclops went to strike again, Spencer threw himself in front of James. Spencer got cut in the neck. He started to bleed out very quickly.James saw his brother starting to die in front of him. James was furious. He took a sword from a dead ork lying beside him and jabbed the Cyclopes in the forehead. The Cyclops fell to the ground. The room went silent.
“Wesley! Take Spencer to the Nazarath hospital now!” James cried, still holding the sword kneeling down to the Cyclops.
